Our Barbaresco boasts a lovely ruby color that tends to garnet red with aging. Bouquet of wild berries, spices like white pepper and liquorice, and aromatic herbs like pine, white mint, and laurel. This velvety wine is balanced and elegant on the palate.
Grapes are sourced from the Southeast facing Ronchi vineyard in the Barbaresco region. The Southeastern exposure allows for a cooler morning and hot afternoon sun and low sand content in the soil gives focused fruit with firm tannin. Fruit is harvested by hand before
being cold macerated for 24 hours. Fermentation lasts for 12 days with pump over at key points in the fermentation process as well as racked before being gently pressed. Natural malolactic fermentation occurs in a temperature controlled environment before 12 months in large 25 hectolitre barrels made of Allier and Slavonian oak wood. The wine is finished in the bottle for an additional 12 months.
Acclaimed winemaker, David Fletcher, of Ceretto and Fletcher Wines selects the wine and prepares it for safe transport to the US.
